One of the ways we took action was by going to the I-Cubs game where we took a picture with their mascot Cubby Bear. In the picture we were holding a sign that says "Follow Your Dreams". It also had different jobs on it. We wanted people to know that it doesn't matter if you're a girl or a boy, you can do what you want to do and be what you want to be.
Our sign was shown on the big screen and it was Tweeted on the I-Cubs Twitter page to over 44,000 fans. When people asked us questions about it we were able to raise awareness about gender equality in jobs just by talking to them. |
Raise Awareness
ingJust talking about gender equality in jobs is an easy way to raise awareness. Many people do not think it is a problem, but it still is. Start a discussion at home with your family or friends is one way to bring attention to the problem.

Ask Questions
We interviewed a lot of people and learned a lot by asking questions. If you think someone is treated unfairly don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions.

Get Involved! There are many people and groups who support gender equality in jobs. "Lean In" is a great source of information about gender equality.
